Develop tools to track whales and vessel movements simultaneously and in real-time
Synthesize and generate new knowledge of whales, their habitat, behavior and interactions with marine vessels to support efforts to reduce risks to whales.
Improve the awareness of the local community and shipping industry on local whale-vessel interactions and risks to whales from shipping activity
Collaboratively develop and implement mitigation measures with industry and local communities to reduce risks to whales.
Build local Gitga’at capacity to monitor and manage shipping impacts
Provide information and tools to mariners, resource managers and stewards to effectively monitor and manage shipping impacts in Gitga’at territory.
